Jessie Shulman, soprano

British mezzo-soprano Jessie Shulman is a versatile and dynamic artist praised for her "warm, velvety sound". Specializing in opera and classical repertoire, she is an avid performer of concert works with orchestra, art song, choral and chamber music. Also a SAG-AFTRA session singer, Jessie's voice can be heard in many major motion pictures including Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Transformers: The Last Knight, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Maze Runner: The Death Cure, The Cloverfield Paradox, and more.

This season Jessie will make her debut in June with Pacific Opera Project as Madama La Rose in Rossini's La gazetta, only the second ever U.S. staging of the work. In the 2017-2018 season Jessie was featured as Alto Soloist in the LA Master Chorale’s annual Messiah Sing-Along at Walt Disney Concert Hall. Jessie’s 2016-2017 season included her debut with the San Bernardino Symphony as Alto Soloist in Beethoven's Symphony no. 9, as well as her solo debut with the LA Master Chorale. She has performed in numerous other concerts with the Chorale at both Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Hollywood Bowl, under maestros Gustavo Dudamel, Grant Gershon, Alan Gilbert, and Jeffrey Kahane. She has sung with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the New York Philharmonic, and the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra. Other performances and projects include Jessie’s debut with Center Stage Opera as Tisbe in Rossini’s La Cenerentola, a performance as Mezzo-soprano Soloist in Verdi’s Requiem at the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music, and a studio recording of Ravel's song cycle Chansons madécasses set for commercial release in 2018-19.
